Dental Implants in Colorado Springs, CO

When you lose a tooth to decay or injury, seeking out dental care is very important. Having one or more missing teeth can have a negative impact on your oral health in both the short and the long term. One or more missing teeth can also impair your self-confidence. Thankfully, you don’t have to live with missing teeth. At Springs Dental Care, we offer one of the most versatile restorative services currently available—dental implants. With dental implants, Dr. Cea can help you replace what you’ve lost so you can enjoy good oral health and wellbeing once again.

What Are Dental Implants?

Dental implants are designed to replace both a patient's missing tooth and his or her missing tooth root. That's what sets it apart from more traditional restorative services. A basic fixed bridge, partial denture, or full denture will help you achieve a complete smile, but they won’t replace the roots underneath.

Replacing your roots is just as important as replacing your missing teeth. Your roots have two very important jobs. First, they anchor your teeth to your jaw, creating a stable foundation. Second, they promote bone growth so that your jawbone stays healthy throughout the years. When you have one or more missing roots, your jaw will weaken over time because there’s nothing there to stimulate new bone growth. Replacing your missing roots with one or more titanium implant posts will help strengthen your jaw while giving your new smile a stronger foundation.

Implant Placement

When getting implants, a patient first needs to undergo a minor surgery in order to place the prosthetic roots into the jaw. Our team is skilled enough to handle this procedure right here in our Colorado Springs office to make your implant journey nice and easy. Thanks to our years of experience, most patients report feeling very little discomfort either during or after implant placement. Once it is completed, you’ll be given a few months to heal before you’re asked to return to our office to receive your new teeth.

Implant-Retained Crowns & Bridges

In the case of a single missing tooth, we can bring it back to life using an implant-retained crown. This will consist of a custom-made all-porcelain crown attached directly to an implant post using a small metal connector. Once it is in place, even you will have trouble discerning it from your real teeth! If you are missing a few teeth in a row, we can also bond an implant crown to other prosthetic teeth to create a bridge and fill in the gap.

Implant-Retained Dentures

Implant-retained dentures allow us to give you a set of teeth you can trust to always stay in place whether you are eating, speaking, or simply showing off your smile. A specially-designed prosthetic will snap onto multiple implants placed into your mouth, and because it will be anchored to your jawbone just like natural teeth, you can trust the fit and bite to be much more reliable than your typical removable prosthetic.

Mini Dental Implants

Many patients with missing teeth would love to get dental implants, but their jawbone is simply too thin and brittle to safely support the posts. In the past, implants would be impossible for this kind of patient, but thanks to mini implants, now everyone can benefit from the most complete tooth replacement solution available today. Mini implants are shorter and thinner than traditional ones, but they are still able to support a denture that is much stronger than a regular one.
